Let's talk about Earth Henna &
the significance it will have in the coming year.
Earth Henna was selected by the Colour Insights team out of hundreds of possibilities, determining it to be a colour that is unambiguous, unapologetic, and unexpected. In recent years, Colour Insights has forecasted many colours. From crisp bright greens to moody purples, which apparently left many followers anticipating 2023 to be another "cool" year for colour. However, as discussed in a previous blog post "Does colour really matter that much?" When forecasting for colour it is more about direction than any predetermined pattern. Yes, certain hues will always be popular, but that does not always lead to a trend.
Speaking of what's trending...
Earth Henna is a saturated, red-infused orange with a brown undertone. Reminiscent of soil, this colour possesses an earthen and grounding quality. Even in 2022, architectural design and decoration is at the point of true grey-exhaustion. Especially in North America, which has influenced consumers to replace the importance grey once had in their homes.
Earth Henna takes up the place of importance by providing consumers with a neutral base to decorate their homes with. Easily adapted as a foundational hue to decorate around. Earth Henna possesses all the seriousness and reliability of a grey, but with a much needed touch of warmth and humility. This is especially important after the emotional tsunami of the last few years.
Earth Henna envelopes the New Year in a much-needed sense of warm connection, conservation, and community.
